Kay Dunkle - Kay has been a member of UPC for 12 years. She served as a Deacon at UPC for six years. After a few years off, Kay is once again serving in the capacity she enjoyed before. She is also Shepherd for the Ladies Life Group. Kay is a retired science teacher from The Tatnall School in Wilmington, DE and has two children and four grandchildren.
Judy Jackson - Judy and her husband Jim have been members of UPC since 1978. She was a teachers aide at Kennett Schools for 16 years. Judy also worked at the Phillips Mushroom Museum for 12 years. She is an avid golfer, enjoys gardening, and is a Silver Life Master in bridge. They have 2 children, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Pamela Woodford - Pam is a retired special Ed teacher . She and her husband, John, moved here almost 6 years ago from Louisville, KY to be close to their daughters and grandchildren. They also have a son Robert who is still in KY. She was an elder at Harvey Brown Presbyterian Church, on the pastor nominating committee, and also taught 2nd grade Sunday school. Here at UPC, she is a part of the LIFE group and Praise and Prayer.
Betty Bryer - Betty started attending UPC in 1978, left briefly in 2011, and returned in 2013. In the past she has served as trustee, choir member, and with VBS. Betty drove a school bus for 12 years, then went back to school to be an LPN. She retired from Pocopson Nursing Home after 21 years. She has 5 children, 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her family, 6 cats, and friends, and also enjoys music and paint by number.
Brian Roberts - Brian is married to his wife Barbara Roberts. They have three college age kids, Brody, Ian and Abbie. Brian grew up going to Toughkenamon Presbyterian church and joined UPC a few years ago. He is currently a Deacon and a member of the fellowship committee.
Lillian Ryan - Lil was married in the church in 1974 and has served as a deacon, taught Sunday School, helped with Bible School and has been a member of the choir for the past 8 years. She enjoys spending time at her cabin in Clinton County when she gets the chance and enjoying her grandchildren. She has lived in the area for 44 years in the same house she & her late husband built and now she shares it with her son & his family.
JoAnn Fisher - A member of the deacon class of 2021. JoAnn lives in the Kennett Square area and is a retired Realtor. She has 2 adult children, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grand children.
Marlel A. Holloway - A lifelong Presbyterian that started at UPC as a young child. She is married to
Ken for 41 years. Her daughter, Brooke, is an elder and has been a lifelong member of UPC. Marlel has served as a trustee and was ordained as a deacon in January 2019. She has been teaching aerobics for 38 years. Marlel and Ken enjoy spending time with their grandson, Charlie, playing pickelball and traveling in their motorhome.
Carol Buckley - Carol, her husband Dale and sons Tristan and Ethan joined UPC in 1992. In 1995 Carol joined the Christian Education Team and began teaching Sunday School and VBS for the next 20 years. Tristan and Ethan were active in Sunday School, VBS and Youth Group as well as UPC's Boy Scout troop 22, both achieving rack of Eagle. Upon retiring in 2015 from University of Penn Veterinary School, Carol has expanded her volunteering within the community, continues to sing in the choir and presently chairs the Mission and Fellowship ministry teams.
Fred Hoge - Fred is a lifelong Presbyterian - he joined UPC in 1994. He has served previously as an Elder and Deacon. He currently is the chairperson of the Finance and and Memorial Gifts Ministry Teams. In the past, he chaired the Mission, Nominating, and Stewardship Ministry Teams. Fred and his wife Kathy have three adult children (Colleen, Tim and Fred) and twin grandchildren. He is mostly retired from a career in business management.
Michael King - Michael King has been a member of the Unionville Presbyterian Church since 1992, when he and his wife, Cathy, were married there by Reverend John Ferguson. They have one son, David, who lives in the Pittsburgh area and is engaged to be married. Mike was ordained as a ruling elder in January 2019and chairs the Personnel committee. He will also be assisting with other committees as needed, including Evangelism and Building & Grounds.
Curt McCray - Curt and his wife, Jane, have been members of UPC since 2004. Curt previously served as a Trustee and has been privileged to serve as an Elder previously. Curt serve on the Building & Grounds and Worship teams and enjoys singing with the Choir and the Praise team. Curt enjoys the outdoors, woodworking, and most of all, his Grandchildren.
Susan Minarchi - Sue joined Unionville Presbyterian Church in 2003 and was ordained as an Elder in 2007. She has served on the Finance, Personnel and Discipleship Ministry Teams. She is currently serving as Clerk of Session and on the Personnel Ministry Team. Sue loves to worship at UPC!
JR Nelson - JR moved to Kennett Square in 1992 from Albany, New York, where he enjoyed teaching sunday school to high school students. JR has been married for 35 years and he and Cyndy have three daughters. JR retired in 2017 after 48 years with an IT organization in sales and staff assignments, including three years in Hong Kong. In retirement, JR has a consulting practice, enjoys playing golf and getting more involved in church activities at UPC.
Greg Permar - Greg was married in the church in 2011 and his children were all baptized here. Greg chairs the Children's Ministry Team and the Memorial Gifts Team and is also a member of the Stewardship Ministry Team. He works in financial services and lives in Kennett Square with his wife Jenn and their children.
Brooke Wren - Brooke was baptized at UPC and attended many years of Sunday school. She returned in 2014, and was married there in 2015. She and her husband, Casey, enjoy their busy little boy, Charlie. Brooke works as a medical scheduler and spends her free time with her dogs, cat and horses. She also serves as Evangelism Ministry chair, on the nominating committee, and as a worship leader.
